UX/UI, Service design, Research

Is it possible to help students understanding the meaning of collective impact and think about sustainability as actions to perform in a community?

Project realised in collaboration with: Eleonora Nava, Emanuele Ceccherini and Letizia Dalla Ricca.

Concept

2021

Build a digital experience to help students connect with each others, enabling a cycle of re-use of second-hand products they don't need anymore; designing a sort of online marketplace for students. The goal was to allow students to exchange and repair objects instead of throwing them away.

Research

To validate our concept we applied both direct (survey, focus group and interview) and indirect (desk research) methods of research. Guided by the collected data we developed our service also defining the touchpoints needed.

My contribution

The whole group took actively part in the concept generation, research and prototyping of the app and the system. I worked mainly on the wireframes, UI design, video trailer and the presentation.

Evolution

How it works

The service provides four different types of offers, mainly dedicated to students:

Repair consulting section
Students can receive advice for reparing their technological devices, by volunteering students in the Lab Idea.

Donating section
Where malfunctioning and repairable items can be gifted to others.

Borrow section
User can borrow small electronic items from specific lockers.

Purchase suggestions section
Thought for students who need to buy technological devices, especially new students in the first years of the bachelor.
